Embodied Postpartum
Breastfeeding is natural, but unfortunately it doesn’t always come naturally. No matter your feeding goals, we are here to support you! We work with families aiming to exclusively breastfeed to those interested in combo feeding and pumping. A typical visit includes a medical history of you and baby, an observation of a feed, an infant oral exam, an evaluation of milk transfer and a written feeding plan with resources for at home!
Lactation FAQs

You might benefit from seeing a lactation consultant if you’re experiencing challenges with breastfeeding or have questions about feeding your baby. An IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is specially trained to help with a wide range of concerns, including:
Difficulty getting your baby to latch.
Pain or discomfort while breastfeeding.
Concerns about your baby’s weight gain or milk intake.
Low milk supply or oversupply.
Issues with pumping or bottle feeding.
Tongue or lip tie concerns.
Feeding challenges with preterm, NICU, or multiple babies (e.g., twins).
Even if you’re not experiencing problems, many parents find it helpful to meet with a lactation consultant for reassurance, personalized advice, or support with transitioning between breastfeeding and bottle feeding.
At North Sky Co., we provide compassionate, judgment-free lactation support to help you meet your feeding goals. Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, pumping, or using formula, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. If you’re unsure, contact us—we’d be happy to discuss your needs and see if a lactation visit could help!

Yes, we do! At North Sky Co., we offer personalized support for exclusive pumping moms, including tips to optimize milk supply, create efficient pumping schedules, and reduce overnight sessions if desired.
We also help families transition between breastfeeding and bottle feeding, whether you're introducing a bottle, returning to breastfeeding, or finding a balance between the two. Our goal is to make feeding your baby as smooth and stress-free as possible while supporting your unique goals and needs.

Yes, we do! At North Sky Co., we offer weighted feeding sessions to measure how much milk your baby is transferring during a breastfeeding session. This involves weighing your baby before and after feeding using a precise scale.
Weighted feeds provide valuable insights into your baby’s feeding patterns, help address concerns about milk intake, and guide any necessary adjustments to your feeding plan. It’s a simple, non-invasive way to ensure your baby is thriving while supporting your breastfeeding goals.

At North Sky Co., our chiropractic and lactation services are designed to complement each other, providing holistic support for both you and your baby. Chiropractic care can help address physical issues that may impact breastfeeding, such as:
Improving your baby’s latch by addressing tension or misalignments in their jaw, neck, or spine.
Supporting your comfort by relieving postpartum back, neck, or shoulder pain from feeding positions.
Enhancing overall function for both you and your baby by improving nervous system communication.
Combined with expert lactation support, we create a personalized plan to resolve feeding challenges and make breastfeeding more comfortable and successful for you and your baby. This integrated approach ensures that both physical and functional aspects of breastfeeding are addressed, helping you thrive in your feeding journey.
